NVIDIA Unveils "Blue" Robot in Collaboration with Disney and Google DeepMind

wisatailmu.com, Jakarta, On Tuesday, March 18, 2025, NVIDIA, in partnership with Disney Research and Google DeepMind, introduced an advanced robot called "Blue" during the GTC (GPU Technology Conference) 2025.

"Blue" is inspired by droids from the Star Wars universe, featuring an appealing design and impressive interactive capabilities. The robot is powered by Newton, a newly developed open-source physics engine created through collaboration between NVIDIA, Disney Research, and Google DeepMind. Newton enables more accurate real-time physics simulations, allowing robots like Blue to interact with their environments naturally and efficiently.

During the presentation, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang demonstrated how Blue can communicate using both voice and body movements, offering a vision of the future where robots can engage with humans in entertainment and service settings. Disney plans to integrate advanced robots like Blue into its theme parks worldwide, including Walt Disney World, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris, to elevate guest experiences.

Additionally, NVIDIA also announced the launch of Isaac GR00T N1, an open-source humanoid robotics foundation model. This model is designed to accelerate the development of humanoid robots by providing a customizable framework for developers. Isaac GR00T N1 is built on a dual-system architecture inspired by human cognition: System 1 for fast, reflex-like responses, and System 2 for more deliberate planning and decision-making.

This collaboration between NVIDIA, Disney Research, and Google DeepMind marks a significant milestone in the development of expressive and functional robots for both the entertainment industry and broader sectors. Supported by cutting-edge AI and physics simulation technology, robots like Blue and Isaac GR00T N1 are paving the way for more natural and effective human-robot interactions in the near future.
